26 Jan Book Talk: The Power of Habit
“We are what we repeatedly do,” said Aristotle. “Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
In his book ‘The Power of Habit’ Charles Duhigg presents some of the newest scientific research explaining how our brain skillfully takes over and automates so much of our lives. His 3-step strategy for giving ourselves the power to take control of our lives is effective and doable. His approach has been referred to as ‘the habit cure’.
Prologue: We now know why habits emerge, how they change, and the science behind their mechanism. We know how to break them into parts and rebuild them to our specifications. We understand how to make people eat less, exercise more, work more efficiently, and live healthier lives. Transforming a habit isn’t necessarily easy or quick. It isn’t always simple. But is is possible. And now we understand how.
Want to make long lasting changes in your life? I suggest you read this book ‘as a habit’ and when you do, I welcome your feedback comments.
Enjoy, ~Linda
